The present stone church was built in the 13th Century on the site of a Saxon Church by the Abbot of Bec and apart from the removal
of a tower it remains unchanged to the present day.
Flora Thompson based her trilogy 'Lark Rise to Candleford' on the area North East of Bicester including the nearby villages of Juniper Hill,
Cottisford, Fringford and Hethe and a memorial tablet to Flora Thompson may be found within the church.
The church is located on the outskirts of the village, to the west.
An excellent publication entitled "Cottisford Revisited", written by Ted and Joan Flaxman, is available
from the church
