St Edmunds & St George Church, Hethe
The name Hethe is generally understood to mean "high place", the reference being made to a ridge that
runs by a small stream, the location of which was the original location of the first major dwelling, built in the 15th. century

Flora Thompson based her trilogy 'Lark Rise to Candleford' on the area North East of Bicester including the nearby villages of Juniper Hill,
Cottisford, Fringford and Hethe.
Parts of the church date back to the 12th century and the church contains some interesting stained glass windows.
In addition to the church of St. Edmunds & St George which is situated in the center of the village,
the Roman Catholic church of Holy Trinity is also located on the outskirts of the village.
